Cantilever Bar Rack Overview

Cantilever racks are ideal for applications where you need to store long or bulky product. Cantilever racking uses a single upright with a fixed base level to provide stability, onto which a series of cantilever arms can be fixed or positioned to provide 'total clear front entry' to the rack which is especially useful when you have bulky or long loads to store.

Cantilever Bar racking is available in many different types and sizes including:

• Fixed Arm bar racks usually freestanding or floor fixed with reducing arm depths in the height
• A Frame bar racks usually with fixed arms, bolted to the floor and the uprights are braced together
• Adjustable Arm bar racks arms are usually friction sliding or bolted into holes in the uprights for adjustability
• Heavy Duty bar racks available up to 7m high x 1.5m deep and 3,000kg per arm (12,000kg per shelf level)

Whichever cantilever rack you decide on they are available single sided or double sided and can be designed / manufactured to suit your individual requirements and they are ideal for plywood & timber, plasterboard, building materials, pipe & tubing, sheet steel, roll goods, extrusions etc

Vertical Storage Racks

Vertical racks are available in standard sizes or made to order with many variations in height and pigeon hole sizes. They are designed for the vertical storage of tubing, pipe, wood, extrusions and other types of similar long length materials. They provide easy access, retrieval and control of your stock and are suitable for use in retail / trade situations as well as in your warehouse.

• Ideal for display and sale of hand-picked stock items
• Product divisions easily adjustable as stock levels vary
• Standard location depth 600 mm but any depth available
• Bay centres designed to suit space available
• Heights available from 2m to 6m and depths up to 1.2m (each side)
• Single sided - or double sided for use in the middle of rooms
• Floor retaining angle keeps the stock safely in rack

The Cantilever

A cantilever is supported / fixed at one end and carries a load uniformly along its length, with the other end suspended in the air. The beam / arm forms a lever, carries the load by being held in position by the mount, creating torque on the mounting. Cantilever racking construction allows for high density storage of long items without the need uprights at the front that would impede loading / unloading.

• Arms can be specified as adjustable or fixed and upright spacings can be varied to suit loads
• Rack uprights and base sections are manufactured from hot rolled universal beam sections
• Arms manufactured from universal beam, rectangular hollow section or angle (to suit capacity)
• The latest computer technology is used to achieve the most efficient design
• All designs will meet the current British Standards
• Minimum safety factor of 2.8 based on ultimate tensile strength
• Arm deflection limited to 1/150 of length
• Upright deflection limited to lesser of 1/120 of height or 50 mm
• "Worst Case Scenario" for loading patterns is always assumed
