A Norwich-based company plans to give away a chunk of its profit to charities chosen by its customers, on a regular basis.
Industrial supplies company ESE Direct has launched the online charity day by pledging to donate at least 5% of online sales generated in a single day on a regular basis.
Customers will be asked to choose which charity out of a selection of three should receive the cash each time and this Thursday (18th April ) the first nominations will appear on www.esedirect.co.uk. On Friday 26th April, the comapny will donate 5% of all online sales that day to the chosen charity.
ESE Direct has always been committed to raising money for charity and recently made over £400 for Comic Relief and has donated thousands over the years.
Simon Francis, from ESE Direct, said “Raising money for and working with charities has always been something we try to do regularly, but doing it this way means that our customers can have a say in where their money goes, and the charities involved will also get more exposure from the initiative,”
We hope people will visit the website this week to vote for the charity they feel deserves the extra boost on the 26th April.
“We hope that by increasing awareness of the day we will be able to raise as much money as possible for whichever charity our customers choose.”
ESE Direct will hold regular charity days, and three different charities will be chosen each time. For April, the charities to choose from are: The Big C, Nelson’s Journey, and the NNAB (Norfolk and Norwich Association for the Blind).
The next charity day will be in June, and ESE would like charities to get in touch if they would like to be considered for inclusion.
Simon continued: “We want this initiative to be as interactive and inclusive as possible, so we’re urging charities to get involved, tell us about the work they do and what they need the money for. We’ll also be asking staff to nominate charities close to their heart.
ESE Direct sells a vast range of products from workshop and storage equipment to site safety products, bike racks and signs.
