On Thursday we’re going to be launching our first ever online ESE charity day. Everyone is really excited about the prospect of donating lots of much needed money to local charities and being able to make a real difference to those who need it.
At ESE Direct we have always done our bit for charity; only last month we had lots of fun whilst raising £400 for comic relief, but we wanted to do something a little more regularly, as well as give our customers a chance to get involved.
ESE Direct has had a very successful last three years, with increased turnover each year, and we think it’s only right to plough some of that back into the community which helped us get to where we are now. We believe we are a caring and ethical employer and we want to do our bit to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
So for our first online charity day we will donate at least 5% of all online sales on Friday 26th April 2013 to a charity shortlisted by our staff and the winner will be decided by the votes of our customers. We’ve chosen three fantastic Norwich based charities to get us started for April:
- Nelson’s Journey - is a charity dedicated to supporting bereaved children and young people throughout Norfolk.
- NNAB (Norfolk and Norwich Association for the Blind) - provide specialist care and help both in the community and within our own Residential Home and Sheltered Housing accommodation.
- Big C - when cancer threatens someone you love: Big C's scientists, nurses and the hospitals we equip will give them a fighting chance and hope for the future.
Going forward we really want charities from all over the UK to get in touch with us, and tell us why they should be on our shortlist. We’ll then be asking our staff to shortlist charities and leaving it to customers to decide which charity gets the money as we hope to help as many organisations as we can.
We’re proud to be in a position to be able to do this, and hopefully by showing what makes us ‘tick’ people will want help a charity at the same time as do business with us. We’d love to hear your feedback about our charity day, so please do tweet us @esedirect or post on our facebook wall: facebook.com/esedirect
